Carl Boenish is the father of the BASE jumping movement, whose passion for skydiving led him to ever more spectacular and dangerous feats. The pinnacle of his achievements came when he and wife Jean broke a Guinness World Record in 1984, but, within days, triumph was followed by disaster.
