Open Pottery Studio

September 30, 2022 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

$10

You asked for an opportunity to work in the Arts Council Studio and we listened! We are excited to offer Open Pottery Studio sessions for experienced potters and those currently enrolled in a summer session of All Levels Pottery. Participants in the Open Pottery Studio will self-direct their creative process without formal instruction.

The sessions are supervised by Katherine Berceau, an experienced potter and our Studio Assistant, who will be available to help as needed. Open Pottery Studio participants will have access to wheels, hand-building materials, and glazes. Archie Bray A-Clay is the only clay body allowed in the studio. It is a Cone 6 White Stoneware. Bring your own A-Clay or purchase 25lb for $25 during class with cash or a credit card.

Please note that no production of pottery is permitted during this class.

All participants in Open Pottery Studio MUST have sufficient experience in pottery to work independently and safely. Expertise is not required but a solid base of knowledge and skill is. Potters who are enrolled in a current session of All Levels Pottery are invited to register for Open Pottery Studio sessions. All participants not enrolled in a current pottery class will be required to PROVIDE A PROOF OF EXPERIENCE (such as an instructor’s recommendation, list of pottery classes attended, academic transcript, or photos of work samples) before they are officially admitted to the Open Studio. Please bring this proof of experience to the class with you or email it to art@bigskyarts.org prior to class beginning.
