The intention of this community event is to bring avalanche awareness/education as an important part of winter preparedness as we transition into an amazing ski season in SW Montana! We also want to be present and make available the resources that are available in Big Sky when it comes to those that may need help and support moving through challenging life experiences/traumas: grief, loss, trauma, survivor’s guilt, etc. The idea is to create a safe space for individuals to open up and share and process a lot of the feelings that many have been left unattended.
Present will be John Kudrna, Big Sky’s new Peer Support Specialist offering addiction prevention, treatment and recovery support in our community. John was on the scene as a patroller during the 1982 Alpine Meadows Avalanche.
